Greetings, I'm Laura Evenstar, a specialist in the field of geomorphology, sedimentology, and superficial ore deposits, with a distinctive focus on tectonically active arid regions worldwide. My academic voyage started with a BSc (Hons) degree from the  University of Leeds, followed by a  PhD at the University of Aberdeen, where I unraveled the intricate relationship between the Atacama Desert and the Andean uplift.

My research journey has taken me through the fascinating terrain of understanding the profound interplay between tectonics and climates in the Andes, an area of great geological and environmental significance. This exploration not only fuels my passion but also contributes to our broader understanding of Earth's dynamic processes.

In 2019, I embarked on a new chapter in my career, joining the University of Brighton, where I continue to delve into the captivating world of geoscience. Prior to this, I served as a Senior Research Associate and Senior Teaching Associate at the University of Bristol,  supported by the BHP Mining Company. During this tenure, I conducted groundbreaking research on landscape evolution in Northern Chile, exploring its connection with supergene enrichment mineralization.

Before my tenure at the University of Bristol, I worked as a research fellow at the University of Aberdeen investigating the intriguing interplay between terrestrial depositional systems and salt diapirs.

Beyond my research endeavors, I take great pride in contributing to the academic community as an Editorial Board member of Elsevier Journal 'Geomorphology.' My journey is driven by an insatiable curiosity and an unwavering commitment to advancing our knowledge of Earth's ever-evolving processes.
